Attention Early Childhood Educators in the Las Vegas Area!

Are you working at a licensed child care center in a classroom with children ages 3-5 years old or in a licensed home day care? Are you are looking for an opportunity to further your education and earn a Child Development Credential (CDA)?

The University of Nevada Cooperative Extension has limited openings for educators to participate in the CDA education program starting in January 2019. This program is free to participants and includes 120 hours of training and all training materials!

Do not delay applications are due by November 15, 2018.

CACFP Survey

The State of Nevada wants to better understand how our Early Care and Education (ECE) Centers are using (or declining to use) the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).  They hope to identify any barriers or limitations to the program and develop strategies to overcome them. The goal of the study is to increase access to healthy and nutritious food for our children.

2018 High Cost of Child Care Report Now Available

Child Care Aware® of America (CCAoA) just released the 12th edition of their annual report about the unaffordability and high costs of child care across the country. Sadly, Nevada ranked as one of the top 10 least affordable states for infant, toddler, preschool and school-age child care in 2017.

Enrollment Period for NEW Trainer Approval Now Closed

The trainer approval and qualification enrollment period for NEW trainers CLOSED on 9/30/2018. No NEW trainer approval applications will be processed between October 1, 2018 – December 31, 2018. 

What this means is that if you were not approved as a trainer by 09/30/2018, you will not be eligible to submit a trainer application...
