Tip of the Day: Going Above and Beyond Licensing Requirements

Child Care Licensing stipulates the minimum number of training hours you must complete on an annual basis, but we’d like to think that professional development is more than a checklist item. Even if you’ve taken the required amount of hours, or if the Registry is unable to approve a particular training, there is nothing wrong with continuing to seek out additional professional development opportunities that you feel will enhance and improve your work with young children. As educators of young children, we should be life-long learners too. Keep learning, keep growing – even if you don’t have to! It’ll make a difference in your work and especially to the young children in your care.
