Tip of the Week: Annual Training Requirements

Child care providers are required to complete 24 hours of training annually. These hours need to be completed within your facility’s licensing year, not the calendar year. Check with your Director and/or review the facility’s license to verify the licensure date. Please note that Child Care Licensing uses a formula to calculate how many hours of training you should have completed by your facility’s licensure date if you were not employed for the full year.  Check with your licensing surveyor if you have questions about how many hours you need to complete if you started working mid-licensing year.
