Attention Trainers: 6 Week Countdown
Posted Tuesday, November 20, 2018 by Shelly Nye
As a reminder, approved trainers in the Generalist, Out of State and Corporate trainer categories are subject to the annual trainer renewal requirements. What this means is that to be eligible to renew your trainer approval status for the 2019 calendar, both of the following requirements must be met:
- Deliver a minimum of four Registry-approved training sessions by December 31, 2018; AND
- Complete 15 hours of required continuing education training and/or college coursework relevant to your field of practice/certification, including a minimum of three hours in adult learning principles, by December 31, 2018.
Trainers who do not fully meet both requirements by December 31, 2018 will not be eligible to renew their trainer approval status until January 2020. Exceptions will not be made.
The good news is that there are still six weeks left in the calendar year to meet the renewal requirements! If you haven't already delivered four Registry-approved sessions, please log into your User Portal today to determine the total number of Registry-approved training sessions you will need to deliver by December 31st in order to be eligible to renew your trainer approval status in the coming year. Please note that training sessions approved but not yet delivered are not factored into your total.
If you have already scheduled enough training sessions to meet the minimum requirement, congratulations! You are right on track to be eligible to renew your trainer approval status for the 2019 calendar year.
