What is the CPR Instructor Listing?
The CPR Instructor Listing was created in response to a change in the way that CPR and First Aid training will be accepted as of June 1, 2016 in order to ensure that information regarding CPR/First Aid trainings remains easily accessible to the ECE community. The CPR Instructor Listing is available on the Training Calendar page of The Nevada Registry website and allows visitors to easily connect with CPR businesses/instructors and locate training that is available to meet their professional development needs in the topics of CPR and First Aid.
As of June 1, 2016:
ALL CPR and First Aid training must be taken from an instructor issuing an offical certification card from one of the following five designated national training organizations (as stipulated in NAC 432A.322 of the State Child Care Licensing regulations):
- American Heart Association
- American Red Cross
- American Safety and Health Institute
- EMS Safety Services
- Medic First Aid
What does this change mean?
This means that when completing CPR and First Aid trainings, you will no longer receive a Certificate of Completion with a Registry approval code, nor will an approval code be listed on your certification card (applies to CPR/First Aid training only). Additionally, as of the effective date, individually approved CPR/First Aid trainings will no longer be listed on the Training Calendar. This applies to CPR/First Aid training ONLY. All other training remains subject to the established polices for training approval.
How can I be sure that the official card will be issued?
Contact the instructor to confirm which card will be issued BEFORE registering for the class. If he/she cannot guarantee that an official card will be issued, DO NOT TAKE THE TRAINING! You can also visit the new CPR Instructor Listing to find a CPR business that is issuing the offical cards of the above-named national training organizations.
Note: The CPR Instructor Listing is a free and optional marketing and communications tool for CPR businesses/instructors choosing to participate. You can take CPR and First Aid training from any instructor, even if they are not listed in the CPR Instructor Listing, so long as you will be issued an official certification card from one of the five designated agencies (American Heart Association, American Red Cross, American Safety and Health Institute, EMS Safety Services or Medic First Aid.)
