Important Notice about University of Nevada Campus Extension Courses

Beginning July 1, 2025, The University of Nevada, Reno Extension office has implemented modest fees for select initial training courses previously available at no charge. Please email Cathy Pesklakai at UNR Extension (cpeshlakai@unr.edu) with any questions about this change and/or to learn more about their courses.

Census Day falls on April 1 and signifies an important logistical detail related to the count: As you answer the census, you’ll be asked to report your address based on where you live as of April 1, 2020.

The deadline to complete is mid-August.  You should have already received information in the mail.  It takes only minutes to complete!

  • Counting For Dollars – the Federal Funding Nevada received in FY16 based on the last census count. For early childhood this includes Head Start, Child Care and Development Block Grant, WIC, Children’s Health Insurance just to name a few.

The 2020 Census will determine congressional representation, inform hundreds of billions in federal funding every year, and provide data that will impact communities for the next decade.  Please make sure your family is counted!
