Approved Nevada Registry Early Childhood and Topic Trainers are invited to join an Early Childhood Virtual Trainer Professional Learning Community (PLC) designed to support the practices and increase the knowledge-base of trainers.  Participating in a PLC is also an opportunity to network and collaborate with other trainers. The first training session of the Early Childhood Virtual Trainer PLC will occur in May 2021. PLC training sessions will resume in September (summer off).

The first session topic will be RISE UP and Train Joyfully, presented by Teresa Byington. Participants of the Trainer PLC will determine topics for the remainder of the sessions starting in the fall.  Topics could include: Meeting the Needs of Diverse Learners, Engagement Strategies, Designing and Delivering Effective Training Sessions and Addressing Challenging Behavior in Adult Learners.  Members of the PLC will be expected to share their expertise during sessions.  The training hours will be Nevada Registry-approved and can be applied toward annual continuing education requirements for trainer renewal.  The Trainer PLC will be facilitated by Teresa Byington and Cathy Peshlakai, University of Nevada, Reno Extension.  Please contact Teresa at byingtont@unr.edu with any questions.

The first training session will occur on Wednesday, May 19th from 9 to 11 a.m. PLC participants will determine future training dates and times.  Registration will be limited and is only open to approved Nevada Registry Early Childhood and Topic Trainers in the Generalist trainer category.  If you are an approved trainer and interested in participating, sign up today.
