The Nevada Department of Education (NDE), Office of Early Learning and Development currently sub-grants with school districts, charter schools, and non-profit organizations to provide no-cost pre-K programs and wrap around services to 4-year-olds whose families are at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Limit. Licensed child care facilities are eligible to receive State funding to implement high quality State Pre-K seats, but are required to partner with a non-profit organization. This partnership is a valuable way to expand our State Pre-K program.
The NDE, Office of Early Learning and Development is currently soliciting non-profit agencies interested in serving as a Nevada Ready! State Pre-K sub-grantee. Current non-profit organizations include the United Way of Southern Nevada and Community Services Agency. Non-profit entities will be responsible for:
- Recruiting licensed child care providers for participation
- Completing and submitting an application for funding to NDE
- Managing all required components of the high-quality pre-K program
If your non-profit organization is interested in serving as a sub-grantee, please contact Stacey Joyner, PhD at firstname.lastname@example.org or 702-668-4348.
