Applicants Sought for Child Care Advisory Council

The Child Care Advisory Council (CCAC) is looking for applicants to fill positions that will represent different segments of the child care industry:

  • For-profit child care center located in Southern Nevada
  • Nonprofit child care center located in Northern Nevada
  • Family care provider located in Northern Nevada
  • Rural provider (any facility type)

The Council meets four times a year and members serve terms of two or three years. The CCAC provides a way for state regulators to hear from providers on a range of matters that affect Nevada’s child care industry. The CCAC makes recommendations to the Division of Public and Behavioral Health and Board of Health on issues such as educational strategies, revision of regulations, complaint processes, and methods or structures for fines and fees. The CCAC meets quarterly via video conference, with locations in Carson City and Las Vegas, as well as a call-in phone number.

Applicants must email a resume and a cover letter to childcarelicenisng@health.nv.gov by March 15. The Council will consider applicants and vote on members during its meeting on April 9, 2019.

For more information, visit the Child Care Advisory Council web page. After election of members, the Council will then elect two Co-Chairs who take turns running meetings.
