Tip of the Week: Child Development Training
Posted Monday, November 20, 2017 by Shelly Nye
Did you know that training in the Core Knowledge Areas (CKAs) of Positive Interactions & Guidance and/or Human Growth & Development can count toward the Child Development requirement? A total of 3 hours is required for Child Care Licensing. All training sessions that meet this requirement in full (i.e., are 3 hours in length) are flagged on the Registry’s Training Calendar with the following disclaimer in red print: This training can be taken to meet the Child Development/Guidance & Discipline training requirement. Training sessions less than 3 hours in length can also be taken – so long as they fall within the correct CKAs, but keep in mind that you’ll need to complete multiple courses to fully meet the requirement.
