Online CCDBG Health and Safety Training Now Available
Posted Tuesday, February 20, 2018 by Shelly Nye
We are excited to announce that all five new CCDBG health and safety training topics are now available online through ChildCare Education Institute. All courses are aligned with Nevada’s State Child Care Licensing regulations and satisfy the newly adopted requirements. There are 3 different ways to access these courses:
- If you already have a subscription to CCEI, these courses are now available in your CCEI account. You can take each course individually (look for courses NV101, NV102, NV103, NV104, NV106) or complete them all as part of an eight-hour CCDBG training package/certificate program customized specifically for Nevada. Cost: $0 (Because it's already included in your existing subscription!). Note: The easiest way to find the eight-hour course is to click on "Enroll Now" on the home page (before logging in), click on "Certificate Course of Study Program", follow the prompts and then select "CCDBG Health & Safety Training for ECE Professionals in Nevada" (Product Code 5315-NV) from the list of courses.
- If you do not already have a subscription, apply for one of 1000 scholarships currently being offered to qualifying active members of the Registry (do not register for any courses until you have been notified whether or not you have been selected for a scholarship). Once you complete the eight-hour course, you will be granted full access to the CCEI course catalog and can take as many Registry-approved courses as you’d like now through February 15, 2019. Cost: $0 (Because The Nevada Registry is picking up the bill! Another great benefit of Registry membership!)
- If you do not have a subscription, do not want a subscription or do not receive a subscription scholarship from The Nevada Registry, you can use the “a la carte” option to purchase one or more hours of coursework at a time to meet your professional development needs. Cost for individual courses: $15 per training hour. Cost for the eight-hour course/certificate program: Only $49 (Another incredible deal for educators in Nevada!). Note: Individual courses can be found under The Nevada Registry Approved Courses dropdown list in the course catalog (look for courses NV101, NV102, NV103, NV104, NV106). To find the eight-hour course, click on Enroll Now on the home page and then on the Certificate Course of Study Programs link. Follow the steps to set up an account. Once your account has been created, return to the home page, click on "Enroll Now" (before logging in), click on "Certificate Course of Study Program", follow the prompts and then select "CCDBG Health & Safety Training for ECE Professionals in Nevada" (Product Code 5315-NV) from the list of courses.
Regardless of how you choose to access these courses, ONLY take the courses listed in The Nevada Registry Approved Courses dropdown list (found at the top of the course catalog) from CCEI’s website. These courses align with the courses you will find when searching for training on The Nevada Registry’s Training Calendar under the Online and Distance Learning Organizations dropdown list. DO NOT take any of the courses found under CCEI’s general “CCDBG Training” listed in their main course catalog. Only the courses listed in the Nevada dropdown list on CCEI's website and those found on the Registry's Training Calendar satisfy the licensing requirements in Nevada.
Attention ECE4 Trainers!
Remember, if you are interested in delivering training in Emergency Management, Building and Physical Premises Safety or Transportation Safety, all you have to do is complete the CCEI courses in those topics and submit your Certificate of Completion to The Nevada Registry to satisfy the prerequisite. Once approved to deliver those topics, you are welcome to begin submitting training for approval using the CCDBG HEALTH AND SAFETY TRAINING: Guidelines for Approved Trainers as a template for training development.
