The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office will be closed for any background or fingerprint services from January 15, 2022 through January 30, 2022. If you have any new employees or employees who will be due for a work permit renewal within that time frame, please ensure they call or email WCSO to schedule a work permit appointment as soon as possible.

Washoe County Child Care Licensing is working with the State of Nevada to implement a new comprehensive background check process for new child care employees in order to meet federal background requirements. These changes are anticipated to go into effect at the end of the month, likely when the Sheriff’s office reopens on January 31, 2022. Washoe County Child Care Licensing will provide additional information, including updated forms and a step-by-step process once they are available.
