What is workforce alignment?
From the 2009 NAEYC Workforce Designs – A Policy Blueprint for State Early Childhood Professional Development Systems: Integrated policies intentionally promote the building and support of an efficient cross-sector system that decreases duplication of efforts and increases accountability and sustainability. An integrated system helps develop and retain a competent and stable early childhood workforce – a skilled cadre of effective, diverse, and adequately compensated professionals.
Purpose of meeting?
At this first meeting we will look at the current status, policies, challenges related to the ECE B-3 workforce – specific to professional standards, career pathways, articulation, advisory structure, data, and financing. An initial step from this meeting will be the formation of workgroups to dig deeper into current issues of alignment and make recommendations for change.
Who should attend?
Educators and Program Administrators (Child Care, Early Head Start, Head Start, Pre-k, K-3), Early Intervention, ECE Special Education, Licensure, Higher Education, Trainers/Professional Development, and others whose work relates to the ECE B-3 workforce (e.g. TEACH, Nevada Registry, Standards, Policy Makers, etc).
Space is limited. Pre-registration is required. Registration deadline is Friday, November 30th.
