Now Accepting Applications for The Nevada Registry's Adult Learning Academy
Posted Wednesday, February 7, 2018 by Shelly Nye
The Nevada Registry is looking for individuals with less than 15 hours of previous experience delivering training to adult learners who are interested in an opportunity to be part of something new and exciting - the Adult Learning Academy (ALA)! The ALA was developed with assistance and input from the TAS Advisory Workgroup as well as a separate ad hoc committee of community experts and is designed to provide prospective trainers with the fundamental principles of adult learning which contribute to the delivery of high-quality training sessions.
Selected individuals will participate in 15 hours of Registry-approved training focused on adult learning principles. Upon completion of the training, attendees will have the tools to begin delivering training to the Early Childhood community and the necessary hours of experience needed to initially qualify as a trainer with The Nevada Registry. Don’t miss out on this opportunity! Only two ALAs will be offered during this calendar year; one in Las Vegas (March 2018) and another in Reno (May 2018). A maximum of 16 individuals will be selected to participate (eight in each location).
Click here to learn more about the ALA selection process, program requirements, and participant qualifications. You are also welcome to review the Participant Agreement that each participant will be required to sign upon selection to the Academy. If after reading through this information you feel like this is the perfect opportunity for you, complete the ALA Participation Interest Survey and Application (application now closed) by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, February 23rd (deadline extended). But don’t delay; space is limited! Selected applicants will be notified by 5 pm on February 28th.
