Providers and Families!

The 2025 Nevada Legislative Session is underway and decisions made during this time may impact young children, families, and child care providers across the state. Policies related to early childhood shape access to education, health care, and resources that support a child’s well-being and development.

First 5 Nevada published an article highlighting key legislative topics and ways to get involved, including:

  • Healthcare and safety: Strengthening pediatric healthcare services and ensuring better protections for children’s well-being.
  • Early childhood education: Expanding access to affordable child care, quality preschool programs, and kindergarten readiness initiatives.
  • Family support: Enhancing policies around parental leave, financial assistance, and workplace accommodations for families.
  • Children’s rights: Addressing issues like mental health resources, bullying prevention, and equal opportunities for all children.
