Nevada Receives Millions for Early Childhood Education

On Wednesday, December 10, 2014, Nevada was selected as an award recipient of the U.S. Department of Education and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Preschool Development Grants Program. According to a press release by Governor Sandoval, the first year grant allotment is over $6.4 million with a potential allotment over the next four years exceeding $43 million. This grant is part of more than $1 billion in new federal and private sector investments in early childhood education announced by President Obama during the recent White House Summit on Early Education.
