The Nevada Registry is Nevada’s statewide workforce registry and professional recognition system for Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) professionals. Through the verification and recognition of professional and educational achievements, The Nevada Registry supports a qualified, well-prepared workforce while providing valuable workforce data to inform policy, planning, and investment in Nevada’s early childhood system.
By collecting, validating, and maintaining workforce information, The Nevada Registry helps elevate the ECEC profession by promoting a workforce that is educated, supported, and recognized for its expertise. We believe early childhood professionals are an essential part of Nevada’s economy and play a critical role in the healthy development and future success of young children.
Supporting Nevada’s Early Childhood Workforce
The Nevada Registry serves as the official host of Nevada’s Early Care and Education Professional Career Ladder, recognizing education, training, and professional achievements through Career Ladder placement. As a centralized professional development system, The Nevada Registry provides educators with tools and resources to support career growth throughout their professional journey.

Nevada’s Workforce Data System
In addition to supporting individual educators, The Nevada Registry serves as Nevada’s primary workforce data system for the ECEC profession. The information collected provides a comprehensive picture of the state’s early childhood workforce, helping stakeholders better understand workforce trends, educational attainment, compensation, professional development participation, and other key indicators.
This data informs strategic planning, legislative initiatives, grant activities, and investments designed to strengthen Nevada’s early childhood system while supporting data-driven decision-making at the local, state, and national levels.
Mandatory Participation
Participation in The Nevada Registry became a requirement for professionals working in licensed child care programs through amendments to Nevada Child Care Licensing Regulations adopted in 2009. Full implementation was completed on December 31, 2012.
Mandatory participation established a consistent, statewide system for documenting workforce qualifications and created an unprecedented source of verified workforce data. Today, that data continues to support statewide planning, funding decisions, quality improvement efforts, and initiatives designed to strengthen Nevada’s early childhood workforce.
