The next Adult Learning Academy (ALA) will begin in January 2026.
The Adult Learning Academy (ALA or “the Academy”) is the pathway available through The Nevada Registry’s training approval system to help individuals interested in becoming approved trainers obtain the training delivery hours needed to initially qualify. Additionally, the ALA is designed to increase the number of publicly offered training sessions available to Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) educators in Nevada. The ALA is not designed for individuals whose primary focus/intent is to deliver in-house training sessions to their own staff and priority will be given to applicants planning to deliver training to the broader ECEC community.
The ALA is aligned with The Nevada Registry’s Quality Assurance System (QAS) and is designed to provide individuals with less than 15 hours of previous training delivery experience the fundamental principles of adult learning which contribute to the delivery of high-quality training sessions. Selected individuals will participate in 30 hours of Registry-approved training over the course of three months*. Upon successful completion of the Academy, graduates will have the tools to begin delivering training to the ECEC community and the necessary hours of experience needed to initially qualify as a trainer with The Nevada Registry.
*Ten to twenty hours of additional independent study and prep time is required outside of scheduled class time to complete assignments and develop a one-hour training session.
The 2026 Adult Learning Academy will be offered virtually via ZOOM. The cost to attend the ALA is $125. However, a $100 scholarship will be provided by The Nevada Registry for each attendee making the cost just $25 per person.
