Tip of the Week: Follow the 2-Hour Rule for Training
Posted Monday, May 16, 2016 by Shelly Nye
A good rule of thumb to follow with regard to your ongoing professional development is to complete at least 2 hours of training each month throughout your training year. Doing so will ensure that you end the year with the 24 hours of required training you need for Licensing (it really is as simple as that!). Waiting until the end of your licensing year to complete all of your annual trainings can lead to unnecessary stress and may result in taking trainings that aren’t as applicable to your work/aren’t of interest to you simply because they are available on short notice. Even though there are many trainings available at any given time on the Registry’s Training Calendar, classes can fill up quickly and sometimes even get cancelled so plan ahead, explore your training options and follow the 2 hour rule for a stress-free professional development experience!
