Tip of the Week: Wellness Training

Child care providers are required to complete 2 hours of wellness training (obesity/nutrition/physical activity) each year. To find training to meet this requirement, search by “Wellness” under the “Initial Training Requirements” dropdown list on the Registry’s Training Calendar. Sessions that meet the requirement in full will include this disclaimer in red type: This training can be taken to meet the Child Nutrition/Wellness training requirement. Wellness training must be completed annually.  Please note that while this training falls within the Core Knowledge Area (CKA) of Health, Nutrition and Safety, it should NOT be assumed that all training that falls under this CKA can be taken to satisfy this requirement. Make your investment of time and money count! Look for the above-mentioned disclaimer and/or when in doubt, contact the Registry to confirm!
