A message from the DSS – Child Care Development Program:

Residents of Washoe County and the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony who lost food purchased with Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits due to the Bug and Stallion fires or related power outages may request replacement SNAP benefits.

Affected SNAP households must report their food loss within 10 days and provide verification of the fire damage or power outage, as required.

The Division of Social Services continues to review available federal SNAP disaster flexibilities and will provide additional information as it becomes available.

SNAP recipients affected by the fires or power outages can report their food loss by visiting a local DSS office or calling (775) 684-7200.
