Hearing for Child Care Regulation Changes Delayed
Posted Thursday, December 1, 2016 by Shelly Nye
A hearing for proposed changes to Nevada’s child care regulations have been rescheduled from the Dec. 9 Board of Health meeting to the March 2017 meeting. Staff will review additional industry input before March 2017 hearing date.
The proposed regulations, which affect issues such as initial staff training requirements and child-to-staff ratios, generated a lot of industry feedback and concern. This outpouring prompted Child Care Licensing staff to delay the hearing to allow for more time to assess concerns and review possible rewording of the regulation changes.
