Attention all QRIS Directors!
ECE Workforce Wellness Stipends are now available. The Wellness Stipends consist of forty stipends of $5,000 available to Nevada’s Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) programs participating in the state’s Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) and that have developed a Wellness Plan for their staff. Providers from the state’s mixed-delivery system will receive funding and support to implement strategies from the newly developed ECE Workforce Wellness Guidebook, aimed at promoting staff mental health and well-being.
This wellness stipend opportunity is made available through Nevada Preschool Development Grant Birth – Five funding, out of the Office of Early Learning and Development in the Nevada Department of Education in partnership with Nevada QRIS and The Children’s Cabinet.
Eligibility
Number of wellness stipends a program is eligible to apply for is as follows:
1-49 staff; 1 stipend
50-99 staff; 2 stipends
100+; 3 stipends
To be eligible to receive a stipend, program directors must:
- Be two star or higher and in good standing with QRIS.
- Select at least two workforce wellness initiatives aligning with the Workforce Wellness Guidebook in English or the Workforce Wellness Guidebook in Spanish, such as:
- Mental Health & Well-Being – Providing access to mindfulness resources, quiet spaces, or mental health support. Including stress reduction strategies and self-care resources.
- Physical Activity & Movement – Implementing workplace wellness challenges, group movement breaks, or ergonomic improvements.
- Professional Growth & Training – Offering wellness-related professional development and leadership training.
- Workplace Culture & Leadership Support – Strengthening wellness policies, administrative support, and staff well-being check-ins.
- Complete the Wellness Plan (included in full application).
- Complete and submit the stipend application.
Please note that all received applications will be reviewed by a review committee. Applying for a stipend will not guarantee you will receive one. All applicants will be notified of a decision.
